Design engineering laboratory

The principal focus of the laboratory is design. More specifically, the laboratory looks into solving problems related to design processes. These could be design processes undertaken by a company, a department, a designer or a group of designers and researchers.

The laboratory’s work

The laboratory’s work aims to facilitate the design process from the initial development of a product through to its production. The aim of the laboratory’s research is to study and produce solutions for resolving design issues encountered at any stage in the product life cycle and in the systems producing them. The laboratory's approach factors in the related technical, economic, human and organisational aspects and the latest findings in engineering sciences. The laboratory is particularly interested in design issues where the usual design procedures cannot be applied, in other words design issues that require creativity through the development of new techniques and/or the innovative use of existing techniques.

The Design Engineering Laboratory is the EA 3938 host team
