if you spend a few months or a few years in Strasbourg, you'll soon find out that it's not only great for studying, but it's also an awesome place to live in. Strasbourg, European capital

Strasbourg is one of the few cities that house international institutions without being the capital of a country. The city enjoys a marvellous location and is an exciting mix of different cultures. Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg are all within easy reach, while Paris, Lyon, Geneva, Zurich, Turin, Milan, Munich, Prague, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Brussels and Amsterdam are all within a 600 km radius.

A rich heritage

Strasbourg is certainly one of the most beautiful cities of Europe with its magnificent cathedral, its Petite France district , its river and canals, along with a number of strikingly-designed modern buildings, especially in the European district.

The whole of the central part of the city has been declared part of UNESCO's world Heritage list. Strasbourg is second only to Paris for the quality and range of its cultural scene, with exhibitions, concerts, festivals, theatres, contemporary music, live music venues and cabarets all year round.

The City and the Strasbourg tourist office have marked out special itineraries to take visitors on a tour of the city's finest buildings. Strasbourg also has some beautiful parks, such as the Orangerie, the botanic gardens, Pourtalès and the Jardin des deux rives, where you can go for a stroll and also, especially in the summer, often enjoy open-air concerts and other attractions.  The city also offers a vast choice of other attractions, including excellent museums and art galleries, and over 400 km of cycle tracks.…

Strasbourg, University City

Strasbourg is a dynamic city with over 50,000 students: it is the main university town in the east of France, and some 20% of its students come from outside France. Renowned for the quality of its universities and schools, Strasbourg also offers a great night life, university restaurants, and terraces in the summer for a good beer or glass of wine.
